Don’t know which diet to try?

If you’re struggling to lose weight, many diets promise quick results. However, it can be challenging to know which one will help you slim down—or if any of them even work! Today, we’ll compare keto, paleo, and Slimming World to see which one works best. Let’s get started!

What is the Paleo Diet

The paleo diet is a nutritional plan based on foods similar to what might have been eaten during caveman times. While several versions of a Paleo Diet – most notably caveman, hunter-gatherer, and dairy-free – all eliminate processed foods and include plenty of fruits, vegetables, and grass-fed meats. A few different studies have shown that following a Paleo Diet can lead to weight loss and improvements in heart health. However, it’s important to note that these studies were small and relied heavily on self-reported data. Further research needs to be done before any firm conclusions about its effectiveness. If you want to lose weight without counting calories or limiting portion sizes, it may be worth giving Paleo a shot. You can learn more about the Paleo Diet here.

What is the Keto Diet

The Keto Diet is a low-carb diet that helps your body enter a state of ketosis. In ketosis, your body burns fat for energy instead of carbohydrates (1). Ketosis is what allows some athletes to operate at peak performance for long periods without eating. It’s also why you can survive on just water for several days without feeling hungry or sick. If you want to learn more about keto, we have a complete guide here. You can also check out our keto recipes page if you’d like to give it a shot. While following a ketogenic diet may seem daunting at first, it only requires you to cut back on carbs significantly. This makes keto easier than other diets because carb cravings are often intense when people reduce their carb intake too quickly. Because of how well-suited low-carb diets are for many people, they tend to be highly effective in helping people lose weight and keep it off over time. Some research even suggests that being in a state of ketosis has anti-ageing effects and benefits for cognitive function (2). Overall, most people find following a ketogenic diet easy because its requirements are flexible enough to fit into almost any lifestyle or food preferences. For example, you don’t need to eat meat every day—you can choose to go vegetarian instead. You don’t need to avoid carbs altogether—you can still enjoy bread occasionally. And you don’t need to count calories—you eat until complete while avoiding added sugars and unhealthy fats (3). Paleo: Paleo is similar to keto in that it focuses on eating unprocessed foods with lots of protein, healthy fats, fibre, and natural ingredients. However, there are some critical differences between these two diets.

She set out to make it affordable for everyone and succeeded with her first class of 14 members! As long as you want to lose weight, they’ll be here for you.

Should you go Paleo, Keto or Slimming World

In recent years there’s been a lot of hype about new diets that promise weight loss: Paleo, Keto and Slimming World being three of them. But what’s all the fuss about? And which of these popular diets is better suited for you than others? Let’s take a look at each…

The first difference we noticed between diets like Slimming World and other plans like Paleo or Keto is that some have strict guidelines on what you can eat while others have very few restrictions. If a particular food type doesn’t agree with your body or if it has adverse effects on your physical health, it might be worth avoiding certain foods while losing weight regardless of whether they are listed as ‘good foods’ or not. Some people will find it easier to stick to a particular plan than others, depending on their dietary preferences. While there may be some people who don’t mind eating only chicken breast for every meal, there will also be those who would prefer more variety and flexibility when planning their meals. This is why we think that each person should carefully consider how well suited each diet plan is for them before committing to it (or even trying it out).

If you want more information about any of these popular diets, then look at our infographic below. Here we’ve compared all three plans to decide which is right for you quickly.

Paleo vs Keto vs Slimming World

We compared each of these diets on five measures. The scores range from 0 (worst) to 100 (best). A low score indicates that a diet performed poorly in that area, while a high score indicates better performance in that category. To help you quickly identify areas where a diet may need improvement, we included colour-coded bars next to each measure: green for top scores, yellow for medium scores and red for bottom scores. Scores are based on results from our independent testing and U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 Best Diets rankings and report card data, which includes ratings by our nutrition experts and community member reviews.
